The Timelessness of Black and White Photography
As I reflect on the beauty of Lauren and Will’s wedding, I can’t help but appreciate the magic of black and white photography. This style, which is where my passion began, has a unique ability to capture emotion and tell a story without the distraction of color. My journey started about 40 years ago with my father, who introduced me to photography using a Zorky 4 Russian analogue film camera. We would develop photos together in a dark room, and those memories remain close to my heart.
While color photography has its own charm, black and white images evoke a timeless quality that resonates with many couples. It allows the viewer to focus on the expressions, textures, and emotions present in each frame. Even after a decade, these images retain their beauty and significance, unlike trends that can date a photo.
I’ve always believed in maintaining a natural look in my work. Many clients choose me because they appreciate my vibrant color editing that remains true to life, without the brown or green tints that can often overwhelm photos.
