Irish Castle Wedding
Barberstown Castle
I have been asked a lot by my wedding couples lately if there are wedding venues close to Dublin that I would recommend. So many wedding couples have a lot of friends, family and wedding guests that are Dublin based so they want to find the perfect wedding venue in the near-by area.
There are many options, but Barberstown Castle in Co. Kildare is a venue you may not be aware of that could be the perfect wedding venue for you.
Barberstown Castle is a wedding venue that I have visited recently. As a professional wedding photographer, I thought that this wedding venue is very special. There are so many options for your wedding photo shoot back drops and there are lots of places that have a WOW factor for your wedding day photographs.
At over 700 years old, Barberstown Castle is steeped in history.
If you are looking for a unique and elegant wedding venue, then you absolutely have to consider this breath-taking castle for your wedding day. It boasts the best of both worlds as it is located within the peaceful countryside of Kildare but it is only a short drive from Dublin city centre.
Your entire wedding day is centred around your wedding ceremony and at Barberstown Castle there are lots of options to suit your wedding day vision. There is a romantic conservatory that fills with light. As a professional photographer, I love to see locations that have lots of natural light available. Lighting is a key component for your wedding photographs. You will look AMAZING when the room is filled with natural light. Plus there is a gorgeous stone work backdrop of the 13th century castle to really make your wedding photographs throughout your wedding ceremony magical.
Barberstown Castle also offers the option of exchanging your wedding vows in front of a roaring log fire.
Imagine that at Christmas time… How romantic!
For those in love with the idea of an outdoor summer wedding there is a private, evergreen and landscaped garden that will bring your friends and family out into nature for your “I do’s!”
For anyone that has the idea of an evening vow exchange, Barberstown Castle has a grand ash tree with glittering fairy lights in their gardens. Fairy lights are simple but so effective and create a gorgeous atmosphere for you’re an intimate ceremony surrounded by your closest family and friends.
After the ceremony your wedding guests will then enjoy a feast fit for a King and Queen with a banquet style setting which looks fantastic. There are so many castle that offer a more modern style set up within the castle. I really loved how the medieval style of Barberstown Castle was woven through the décor, furniture and interior of the castle. It has a classic old world charm about it that not every Irish castle can offer.

Happy wedding planning!
Love Daniel
…”We booked Daniel for our wedding on 19th February 2016. The booking itself was easy and hassle-free with Daniel being extremely prompt with replying to the initial queries we had and then securing the booking.
On the day itself, he was absolutely brilliant and extremely professional. Daniel arrived to my family home (bride) on time, we had a quick chat and then he got on with things.
If you want a wedding photographer that is not intrusive then Daniel is for you.
Daniel is a very pleasant man who is easy to deal with and very discrete. After the usual married couple and family photos, we were barely aware we were being photographed!
In saying that he still managed to capture the important moments for us.
We did not have to wait long for our photos and by the time we arrived home from honeymoon they were ready. We received a gorgeous presentation box with the USB inside delivered to our home.
We are really delighted with our photos and look forward to sharing them with all out friends and family…”
