It’s been another busy month for me as a wedding photographer, but I just had to share the latest gem location in Ireland that I got to spend a day at, with one of my Brides and Grooms.
Killashee House Hotel in Kildare – The Best Irish Wedding Venues
is only a half hour drive from Dublin and as you make your way into this impressive venue you are looking at acres of the beautiful countryside that Kildare has to offer. There is a lovely sense of getting away from it all!
As the building comes into focus, it really does have the WOW factor. It effortlessly oozes class and elegance but has a modern feel to it. The original house makes for an incredible backdrop for your wedding day photographs and the interior of the old house is simply breathtaking.
Each room is dressed in opulent fabrics, luxurious wallpaper and stunning light fittings. I felt as though I had walked into a scene from Downton Abbey!
I was absolutely spoilt for choice when it came to locations for the Family, Bridal Party and Bride and Groom photo shoots which cannot be said for every venue.
For those that love the outdoors and nature, Killashee House Hotel also offers a sculpted garden with fresh flowers in bloom along each of the walkways. We also stumbled across the woodlands walkway which is absolutely gorgeous. With the weather on a side, it’s a fantastic place for a newly married Bride and Groom to take some time out with a glass of champagne. I love to take photographs from afar of the Bride and Groom enjoying some quiet time together. The trick is always to have a beautiful backdrop to take these photographs and Killashee House Hotel did not disappoint.
Wedding Venue in Kildare
It’s not often that a wedding venue can cater equally for intimate parties of 40-50 people, but also for up to 250 guests. They offer the option for Brides and Grooms to use the original house or to have their celebrations in Thomson Suite.
There are multiple chandeliers twinkling from the ceiling of the Thomson Suite which quickly caught my eye. The room was decorated simply but elegantly, as very little is needed when the décor of this suite speaks for itself.
I highly recommend that you have a look at this fabulous venue if you are on the hunt for a wedding venue near Dublin, that has old-school glamour around every corner.
