If you are looking for a unique wedding day with lots of ways to make your special day feel different, then you definitely need to check this place out! I especially recommend Mount Druid for wedding couples that are nature and animal lovers that care about the climate change and the planet!
Mount Druid is situated in the picturesque village of Castletown Geoghegan
, County Westmeath. Mount Druid is set on an impressive 100 acres of parkland. It is owned by the Murphy family. They are lovely down to earth people and they are real nature lovers. They take great pride in their role as custodians of Mount Druid. They have planted over 200,000 trees at Mount Druid and they’re really eco-conscious and eco-friendly. They cultivate and grow as much organic foods and fuel as they can. Impressed? Well, on top of all of that, Mount Druid is also a working organic sheep farm!!!
On the grounds of Mount Druid
, you have so many locations to choose from. The purpose-built tin chapel can be used for an intimate wedding ceremony. This tin chapel is a personal favourite of mine! At the top of the aisle, there is a swarm of colourful origami birds that have been hung across the front of the chapel. They are simple but beautiful and as a bride and groom meet here there is a real sense of romance in the air here!
Mount Druid also has a barn and boathouse that can be used to entertain your friends, family and wedding guests. The boathouse is the ideal spot for your wedding guests to mix and mingle together. If the weather is on your side, there are beautiful views of the lake to be enjoyed here.
There are lots of places for my Bride and groom to enjoy some romantic time together and there are plenty of backdrops to create your amazing wedding day photoshoot. A short walk around the grounds offers any professional wedding photographer a lot of scopes to take your wedding photographs. Relax and enjoy yourself and let your professional wedding photographer snap away in the background. When you are relaxed and enjoying your alternative wedding day, you will be amazed at naturally you smile and how fantastic your wedding photographs will be.
The festivities will take place in the barn
and through bunting, fairy lights, vintage furniture and antiques, there is a gorgeous warmth created for your wedding guests, family and friends to enjoy, here at Mount Druid.
I was also really impressed with their accommodation which is a combination of traditional bedrooms, glamping tents, camper vans and stand-alone small bungalows. Lots of options for your wedding guests to have some fun with and to stay in accommodation a little more fun than usual!
