An exclusive wedding venue that I visited recently is the Virginia Park Lodge
located in the pretty village of Virginia, Co. Cavan. This impressive wedding venue was the winner of Georgina Campbell’s ‘Country house of the year’ in 2018 which is high praise indeed! I was delighted when one of my wedding couples invited me to this unique and elegant private wedding venue. It’s definitely one of my top picks if you are planning your wedding day in the Cavan area.
This beautiful country house is steeped in history. It dates back to the 18th Century and is well documented as a hunting estate.
I was very excited to hear that it has recently been brought back into Irish hands by Michelin starred chef Richard Corrigan! With Mr. Corrigan at the helm, you are guaranteed that your wedding guests, friends and family are in for a big treat when it comes to the refreshments and food throughout your wedding day celebrations. The food is often one of the most enjoyable and memorable parts of your wedding day for your guests, friends and family.
I have met so many wedding couples, brides and grooms that are dreaming of an elegant and luxurious wedding venue that is exclusive and privately yours for your wedding day, while also having a warm and homely feeling. Deer Park is a fabulous location for your wedding photography shoot. There are plenty of pretty walkways and winding pathways to get lost in and your professional wedding photographer will have lots of options to choose from when they are looking for the picture-perfect setting for your wedding day photoshoot.
Your wedding photographer will also be happy to hear about the nine-hole golf course and the extensive walks along the banks of the renowned fishing lake of Lough Ramor. Yet another iconic backdrop for your wedding day photography!

Your wedding day ceremony can be held in the country house itself. They have a stunning lake view pavilion which will WOW your wedding guests, friends and family. There is also the option of exchanging wedding vows in the walled gardens or the parterre gardens if you are eager to get outdoors.
Your wedding day banquet can take place in an exclusive pavilion with Lakeview’s, that can cater for up to 300 guests or the Virginia Park Lodge’s impressive 18th Century Marchioness banqueting room which can hold a more intimate wedding for anything up to 90 guests.
